KineticClassroom

Helping students find the calm, focused state where learning happens.

Calm bodies. Focused minds. Better learning

KineticClassroom turns under-desk bikes into a real-time regulation dashboard — helping students with ADHD reach the calm, alert state where learning happens, while you see at a glance how they're tracking.

Some children can't focus when they're sitting still

For students with ADHD, hyperactivity, or regulation challenges, being asked to sit completely still during learning isn't just uncomfortable — research shows it can actively make focus harder. Their brain needs movement to reach the calm, alert state where learning becomes possible. KineticClassroom gives them a way to get there.

One iPad. Any classroom.

No complex setup. No IT department. One iPad runs up to two bikes while you teach.

Bluetooth sensors track cadence

A small Bluetooth sensor on the pedal tracks how fast each student is pedalling. Gentle, steady pedalling shows as calm and focused, so you can see who has found their rhythm and who needs a check-in.

Evidence that builds over time

Sessions save automatically. Over time you build a simple record of how each student is using the bikes — helpful evidence for documenting an adjustment, and for seeing what's working — without turning it into a competition.

The teacher dashboard shows each student's regulation status in real time — calm and focused, warming up, or over-activated — so you can see at a glance who needs support, without interrupting the class.

Designed for the students who need it most

KineticClassroom works best as a targeted tool for upper primary and secondary students with ADHD, hyperactivity or regulation challenges. Research shows these students benefit most from low-intensity rhythmic movement during learning — while the rest of the class works uninterrupted.

Light, steady movement — Research links gentle, rhythmic movement to better attention, while harder effort competes with thinking. KineticClassroom's zones are built around that light, sustainable range.

Become a Founding School

KineticClassroom has been trialled with students across three classrooms in a Brisbane primary school. We're now looking for a small number of founding schools to help shape what comes next.

Founding schools get the app, direct support from the developer, and a genuine say in where it goes next. KineticClassroom is a teacher-built product at an early stage, and your feedback directly decides what gets built.

FAQs

What hardware do I need?

An under-desk pedal exerciser (sourced locally) and a Bluetooth cadence sensor for each bike. Version 1 supports the Garmin Cadence Sensor 2.

How many bikes do I need?

KineticClassroom runs up to two bikes per iPad. Most classrooms start with one or two students, which is what the app is designed for.

Is it suitable for all year levels?

KineticClassroom works best with upper primary and secondary students. Younger students may find the dual task of pedalling and working more demanding.

What about student data and privacy?

Everything stays on the iPad. There are no accounts, no logins and no tracking, and we ask teachers to use initials rather than names. Full details: kineticclassroom.com.au/privacy.html

Does it work on any iPad?

KineticClassroom needs an iPad running iPadOS 17.6 or later. That's the standard iPad from 2018 (6th generation) onwards.
